South Windsor Officers Encounter Bear At Early Morning Trash Bin Buffet

A bear alert has been issued after an encounter in South Windsor, police said.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — A black bear was caught helping itself to a few leftovers in South Windsor early Monday morning.

And it escaped being arrested for disorderly eating.

The bear was spotted by South Windsor police while they were patrolling along the 600 block of Strong Road during the midnight shift.

The bear was digging through some trash cans and enjoying the spoils, police said.
