The Wapping Fair will take place Thursday, September 4 through Sunday, September 7, 2025, at the John Mitchell Fairgrounds, 75 Brookfield Street in South Windsor. Admission is $20 for general admission, $7 for seniors, or $14 for seniors who would like to include rides. General admission tickets include the wristband for the rides. Children under 36” are free.
Fair hours are Thursday from 5 to 10 pm, Friday from 5 to 11 pm, Saturday from 10 am to 11 pm, and Sunday from 10 am to 6 pm. Guests can enjoy fourteen midway rides provided by Rockwell Amusements.
On Thursday, guests who bring a canned or non-perishable food item will receive half off their ticket price. All donations will support the South Windsor Food Bank. On Sunday, veterans, first responders, and active duty military will receive free admission thanks to a generous donation from the Hartford Evergreen Masonic Lodge #88.
This year’s fair will also introduce a brand-new mascot, a friendly pig, and the community has been invited to help name it. The competition will be announced ahead of the fair on the Wapping Fair Facebook page, where details and the entry form are available. The top entries will go to a community vote, with the winning name announced before the fair.
Food lovers will find plenty to enjoy with a wide variety of food. The food trucks will be offering everything from Greek street food and Tex-Mex to wood-fired pizza, barbecue, and classic fair treats like fried dough and soft serve ice cream.
The fair will also feature a range of merchant vendors offering handmade goods, jewelry, home items, specialty crafts, and unique finds.
Entertainment throughout the weekend will include live music from local bands and wandering performers throughout the fair. Families with children can enjoy interactive activities including bubble shows, hula hoop fun, and a face painter with balloon sculpting.
The popular Doodlebug Tractor Pulls will be back this year, scheduled for Friday from 6 to 10 pm and Saturday from 3 to 11 pm, along with pig races taking place throughout the day on Friday, Saturday, and Sunday.
The Wapping Fair is a long-standing tradition in South Windsor and remains one of the best ways to close out the summer. With food, music, rides, vendors, and activities for all ages, it promises to be a fun and memorable weekend for the whole community.
