Water Main Project Underway In South Windsor
A Connecticut Water Company $3 million project will replace a water main which is more than 60 years old.

SOUTH WINDSOR, CT — The Connecticut Water Company has begun installation of a new water main in South Windsor on High Street, Hillside Drive, Steep Road, Aroda Drive and Greenfield Drive. Nearly one and four-tenths of a mile, or 7,200 feet, of water main will be installed at a cost of about $3 million.
The new main replaces existing pipe that is more than 60 years old. Ten fire hydrants will also be replaced as part of the project. The main and fire hydrants will provide additional fire protection for public safety and improved water quantity and quality to area residents.
Construction has begun on Hillside Drive at Sullivan Avenue. Customers in the construction area have been notified of the project, and will receive advance notice of any scheduled water service interruption because of the water main installation project.
