MD Man Dead, 2 Kids Among 5 Hurt In DC Shooting; Suspects At Large

Police said 2 suspects fired gunshots at a group of people in Northeast D.C. on Wednesday night. A Largo man was killed, 5 people were hurt.

WASHINGTON, DC — Metropolitan police are searching for two suspects after authorities said they shot six people, killing one and injuring five others — including two young children — in Northeast D.C. on Wednesday.

According to police, authorities responded to a report of a shooting in the 1100 block of 21st Street shortly after 6 p.m. When officers arrived, they found three men, a woman and a 9-year-old boy suffering from gunshot wounds.

Police said one of the men — identified as 29-year-old Aubrey McLeod of Largo, Maryland — was pronounced dead at the scene. The other victims were taken to nearby hospitals for treatment.

A short time later, police learned a 12-year-old boy had also been hospitalized after he was shot during the same incident.

According to police, the victims were shot when two armed suspects got out of their vehicle and fired toward a group of nearby pictures. The suspects fled following the shooting.

Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000 to anyone who provides information leading to the arrest and conviction of the shooters. Anyone with information about their whereabouts should contact police at 202-727-9099 or send a text message to 50411.
