Apartment Fire Displaces 9 Residents In Southeast
Nine people were displaced by a fire that broke out at a Southeast Washington apartment building Wednesday afternoon.
WASHINGTON, DC — Nine people were displaced by a fire that broke out at a Southeast Washington apartment building Wednesday afternoon.
The blaze occurred at around 12 p.m. at a three-story apartment building in the 2700 block of Langston Pl. SE, according to DC Fire and EMS officials.
The fire broke out on the first floor of the building and was caused by a failure of a household appliance, officials told Patch.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire under control and extinguish the blaze quickly, officials said. No injuries have been reported.

The Red Cross has been requested to help the displaced residents.
