Baltimore Area Man Dies In DC Shooting: Police

A 34-year-old man died after he was shot in the head in Northeast Washington Wednesday afternoon, police said.

WASHINGTON, DC — A 34-year-old man from the Baltimore area died in a shooting in Northeast Washington Wednesday afternoon, police report.

Police responded to the fatal shooting in the 1100 block of Oates St., NE at about 1:45 p.m. Wednesday. Upon arrival, officers located an adult male in the alley suffering from a gunshot wound. Police say the victim was shot in the head.

The man was transported to an area hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead, police said.

The decedent has been identified as 34-year-old Balmore Mauricio Fuentes, of Dundalk.
