Cherishing Close Bonds With Adult Children: 30 Days Of Gratitude
Donna Marie Alexander shares gratitude for the special relationship she has with her children and friends who offer help in tough times.

WASHINGTON, DC — Throughout November, we are inviting readers to share their gratitude for others. In D.C., Donna Marie Alexander is sharing gratitude for the special relationship she has with her children and grandchild, and the support she offers and receives from her friends.
Here's the message Alexander shared about what she is grateful for this holiday season:
I am grateful for many things in my life. I have a good family support system. I have two children who I enjoy their company, and they want me to be involved in their lives and including my grandbaby’s life. They have been here to support me in my life. I know not everyone has that type of relationship with their kids, which makes me grateful. My extended family is very supportive, also. I am grateful for them. A shoutout to my little sister and daughter-in-law! I have a group of friends that I am grateful for, they love and support me. They have gotten me through some tough times. The love and support that I get from all those mentioned above helps me make a little difference in the world. I try to give back in my work and my daily interactions with people. I am grateful that I can be a small piece to those around me in the much divided and painful world we are living in now. As we near Thanksgiving, I think it is a great time to communicate to those in my life how we are grateful for them in our lives and the difference they make in the world. The larger good. I appreciate this “30 days of gratitude” article and exercise to give me a chance to do so!
