DC Brau Kicks Off Pride Celebration With Dancing, Drag Show, Beer

DC Brau craft brewery hosts two Pride celebratory events in June, one at the Navy Yard and the other at its beer garden in Northeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — Local craft brewer DC Brau has lined up a series of events in June to celebrate Pride Month in Washington, D.C.

The fun begins with the Pride Pils Dance Party & Launch on Thursday at DACHA Beer Garden in Navy Yard, which DC Brau is partnering with Electric Rainbow to host. Customers can enjoy an evening of beer, music and dancing. Happy Hour runs from 6-8 p.m., followed by a dance party from 8-11 p.m.

Chord Bezerra of District Co-Op is the artist behind the this year's Pride Pils can art, which was designed as a response to Florida's “Don’t Say Gay” bill. The design focusing on celebrating Pride across the LGBTQIA+ community. Bezerra will also be performing a DJ set during Thursday night's party.

General admission tickets are free and VIP tickets are available with a $20 donation, which includes a complimentary can of Pride Pils and access to the VIP area. Patrons are encouraged to RSVP in advance via Eventbrite.

DC Brau will move the party back to its home base at 3178-B Bladensburg Road, Northeast, on Saturday, June 11. Guests can gather in the DC Brau Beer Garden for the WERQ Pride Party & Drag Show. DC’s fiercest Divas & Queens will be offering performances from 3-6 p.m. Tickets can be purchased for $15 via Eventbrite. Each ticket comes with a can of Pride Pils.

All proceeds raised during DC Brau's two Pride events will go directly to The Blade Foundation and SMYAL, which supports the District's LGBTQIA+ communities.
