Do You Know All 30 of Your Human Rights?
Join the Sept. 14 D.C. Peace Walk and Open House to discover and celebrate your 30 universal human rights.

Washington, D.C. — On Saturday, September 14 at 1:00 p.m., Youth for Human Rights DC will host a Peace Walk on the steps of the Lincoln Memorial in celebration of the International Day of Peace. The walk will conclude at the World War II Memorial, a fitting reminder of the events that led to the formation of the United Nations and, soon after, the issuance of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, which lays out 30 rights belonging to every human being, that is, they are universal.
Following the Peace Walk, participants are invited to an open house at the Founding Church of Scientology of Washington, D.C., at 1424 16th St. NW. The open house will provide a full overview of the Youth for Human Rights and United for Human Rights programs and show how the 30 rights of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights are being brought into reality for people everywhere.

Youth for Human Rights DC has organized annual walks for human rights education since 2018. Some of these were held on Human Rights Day in December and others on the International Day of Peace in September. Each year, these events have brought together individuals and organizations across the Nation’s Capital to raise awareness of the 30 rights in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights.
In a world where news of human rights violations—ranging from violence to human trafficking, poverty and famine—dominates headlines, few people understand their rights and even fewer know how to exercise or protect them.

- Petition governments to implement and enforce the provisions of the 1948 United Nations Universal Declaration of Human Rights, the world’s preeminent human rights document, and mandate human rights education in schools.
United for Human Rights and Youth for Human Rights provide educational resources in 17 languages and support activities at every level of society. Their programs are widely used by schools, churches, civic and community groups, human rights organizations, law enforcement, armed forces and governmental agencies worldwide.
