Cancer fighters around the globe are ready to start the American Cancer Society Relay For Life 2023 season off on the right foot with #RelayFirstLap on Saturday, Jan. 7, 2023. Participants can volunteer for the American Cancer Society, sign up for the nearest Relay For Life (www.relayforlife.org) in your community, and take those first steps during #RelayFirstLap in your neighborhood, park, living room, or wherever you like! The point is to start walking as a symbol of your commitment to help end cancer as we know it!

WHAT IS RELAY FOR LIFE? The Relay For Life (RFL) movement is dedicated to helping communities attack cancer. Through funds donated, time given, or awareness raised, our communities are teaming up - virtually or in person - to make a difference. When volunteers rally together in the fight against cancer, we can accomplish anything. Relayers walk a track during their inspiring Relay event that celebrates survivors, remembers those lost and fights back by raising important funds. RFL volunteers and committee members are always needed!

#RelayFirstLap started with American Cancer Society (ACS) national volunteer Joe Gillette’s vision to publicly renew his commitment to Relay For Life and encourage others to join him. Since then, Joe’s vision has spread globally and on the first Saturday of the New Year, Relayers worldwide take their first lap of the year together. As Joe now faces his own cancer journey, ACS team members can support and honor his vision by taking those first steps to kick-off the year together on Jan. 7. For more about Joe's journey and mission, see: https://www.facebook.com/joe.g...
