BETHESDA, MD — Independence Day is quickly approaching, which means it's time to fire up that barbecue and find out what Fourth of July fireworks and festivities are going on near Washington, D.C., in 2023.

When: Tuesday, July 4

Where: Around National Mall, Washington, DC

There will be various events for Fourth of July in DC, including the National Independence Day Parade from 11:45 a.m. to 2 p.m. along Constitution Avenue NW from 7th Street NW to 17th Street NW with marching bands, fife and drum corps, floats, military units, giant balloons, equestrian, drill teams and more. A Capitol Fourth Concert is a free event held on the West Lawn of the United States Capitol at 8 p.m. and will be livestreamed. Fireworks will be held starting at 9:09 p.m., launched from both sides of the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.


Conrad DC’s SUMMIT Rooftop

When: Tuesday, July 4 at 7:30pm exclusively to hotel guests on a first come, first served basis.

Where: Conrad Washington DC, 950 New York Ave., NW, Washington, DC

Independence Day Eve Nationals Fireworks Watch Party

When: Monday, July 3 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Homewood Suites by Hilton Washington DC Capitol-Navy Yard, 50 M St SE, Washington, DC

Watch the Washington Nationals postgame fireworks show from the roof of the hotel to celebrate Independence Day on July 3. Tickets include entrance and one drink. If you are planning to book a room at the hotel to attend this event, be sure to mention the event to receive a discount.


4th of July Celebration & Fireworks at the Military Women's Memorial

When: July 4, 6:30 p.m. to 10 p.m.

Where: Military Women's Memorial, Memorial Ave and Schley Dr., Arlington, VA

The Military Women's Memorial will host families for views of DC's fireworks. Attendees will enjoy a catered buffet, open bars, live music, family-friendly movies and popcorn, activities for all ages, photo booth, games and glowsticks.


Alexandria 274th/USA 247th Birthday Celebration and Fireworks

When: Saturday, July 8, 8:30 p.m. to 10 p.m., rain date Sunday, July 9

Where: Oronoco Bay Park, 100 Madison St., Alexandria, VA

The Alexandria/USA Birthday Celebration will feature fireworks, live music, food and more. The fireworks display is expected to begin around 9:30 p.m.


Mount Vernon's Independence Fireworks

When: Friday, June 30 and Saturday, July 1, 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Where: George Washington's Mount Vernon, 3200 Mount Vernon Memorial Hwy., Mount Vernon, VA

Enjoy fireworks set to patriotic music while the mansion is lit in red, white and blue. There will be concessions on the East Lawn, live music from the National Concert Band, The Fifes & Drums of York Town, a visit from George Washington, mansion tours, wreath layings at the Washington tomb, 18th century lawn games, ice cream making demonstrations and more. This event is ticketed, and Saturday's event is already sold out.


Rockville: Independence Day Celebration

When: Tuesday, July 4

Where: Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm, 1800 Piccard Drive, Rockville

The City of Rockville will hold its annual Independence Day celebration and fireworks display at Mattie J.T. Stepanek Park in King Farm on Tuesday, July 4 from 7 p.m. to 10 p.m. The location offers wonderful spectator viewing, and ample and convenient parking for the 4th of July festivities. Enjoy live music by Vertigo Red and a 20-minute fireworks display.


Wheaton: Mid-County Sparkles

When: Saturday, July 1

Where: Newport Mill Local Park, 11201 Newport Mill Road, Wheaton

Mid-County Sparkles, one of Montgomery County’s Independence Day celebrations, will take place on Saturday, July 1. Live music begins at 6 pm and fireworks begin at 9:15 pm. No alcohol or pets are permitted.
