WASHINGTON, DC -- A man was captured on surveillance video ripping down a gay pride flag hung up at a home in D.C., all while yelling homophobic slurs.

Twitter user @mjasonrhoades tweeted video of the violent display, which he said happened at his home on Independence Avenue at 17th Street SE near the Stadium-Armory Metro station. It was first reported by Popville.

"This happened in broad daylight ... this morning while my wife was walking our dog," he wrote. "People like this should not be on our streets."
