'The Meatball Shop' To Open In DC In August

WASHINGTON, DC — The popular New York City-based chain The Meatball Shop will open its first location outside of New York in Logan Circle this August.

Eater DC confirms the restaurant will open at 1720 14th St. NW on Tuesday, Aug. 7.

As the name implies, The Meatball Shop specializes in build-your-own meals centered around meatballs.

Customers first choose their own meatball from options like classic, pork, chicken, veggie and more.

Next comes the sauce: classic tomato, spicy meat, parmesan cream and mushroom gravy are some of the choices.

Then comes the style of how you want your meatballs. Some options are: Naked, with four meatballs in sauce with parmesan and focaccia bread; or Smash, with two meatballs on a brioche bun with sauce, cheese and a simple salad.

The eatery also serves cocktails and dessert.

“It’s amazing what has happened with the food scene in the past couple years. It’s a fun time to come down to D.C.,” Meatball Shop CEO Adam Rosenbaum told Eater DC.
