The Nation's Capital Hosts Its Annual Leather Weekend

“This year’s festival will be the largest main event in MAL history,” says local nightlife producer Zach Renovátes of Mid-Atlantic Leather Weekend, Washington DC's annual leather and fetish celebration. He and his co-producers Dougie Meyer, and Jesus Quispe (Q), predict that thousands of men from around the globe will descend into the nation’s capital this MLK weekend to experience the weekend's attractions, including their four massive Kinetic:Kink events.

The weekend's festivities began last night at BUNKER (2001 14th St NW), with partygoers suited up in military gear. DJ Joshua Ruiz manned the decks from 10pm to 3am, whipping the recruits into shape. The debauchery continues tonight with UNCUT XL at REPUBLIQ Nightclub (2122 24th Pl NE) where attendees will cruise the labyrinth of extended play zones while DJs Onyx and GSP commandeer the club's three massive rooms with their pulsating beats from 10pm until 4am.

Tomorrow night is the monumental main event, KINETIC: KINK. It takes place from 10pm to 4am at the multilevel mega-club, Echostage (2135 Queens Chapel Rd NE). Superstar DJ’s Abel and Alex Acosta will headline, and the event features a special performance by RuPaul’s Drag Race Superstar, Violet Chachki. Revelers are encouraged to show off their best fetish gear for the main event which will feature live kink acts and unrestrained performances designed to force partygoers into submission.

The weekend’s grand finale takes place Sunday night, at discoVERS XL. KINETIC Presents is proud to partner with Centaur M.C. Mid-Atlantic Leather to once again produce the epic weekend’s official closing party. DJs Dan Slater and Alexis Tucci will spin jubilant disco and house music from 10pm to 4am at Zebbie’s Garden (1223 Connecticut Ave NW). A special live performance by adult film star Boomer Banks will be seamlessly integrated into their sets throughout the night.

Mid Atlantic Leather Weekend is an opportunity for the nation's leather and fetish communities to gather and showcase their craft in a safe environment. The festivities also provide critical support to the LGBTQIA+ community. Last year, the weekend raised over $150,000 for local non-profit organizations.

The KINETIC: KINK main event is 18+, and all other events are 21+.
