New Food Hall Coming To DC Neighborhood: Report
The Buzzard Point neighborhood reportedly is getting a new food hall and farmer's market soon.
WASHINGTON, DC — The Buzzard Point scene is starting to get a bit more crowded, with a Baltimore chef reportedly planning on opening a new 20,000-square-foot food hall in the neighborhood.
The arrival of D.C. United's Audi Field certainly made the neighborhood a hotter commodity for restaurateurs, and Chef Spike Gjerde appears to see promise by opening the food hall at 2100 Second St. SW, according to a Washington Business Journal report.
The report states that the food hall, to be named Peaceable Kingdom after an Edward Hicks painting, will be situated underneath apartments and next to Buzzard Point Fish House. In addition to being a food hall, it will also be an indoor farmer's market, a coffee shop, a full-service restaurant, and a bar.
