NoVA, DC Storm Timeline: Heavy Rain, Flooding Possible
National Weather Service says northern VA, DC are in for thunderstorms and strong winds overnight. Flooding is possible as rain continues.
WASHINGTON, DC — Rain is going to continue off and on through Saturday night across the District and northern Virginia, with thunderstorms and wind gusts close to 30 miles per hour possible Thursday night, according to the National Weather Service.
A hazardous weather outlook has been issued for Washington, D.C., and parts of northern Virginia.
The forecast for the DC region said there is a chance of thunderstorms overnight, mainly before 10 p.m. Wind gusts of 26 miles per hour are predicted overnight, dropping to 21 mph on Friday.

Areas included in the hazardous weather outlook are: the District of Columbia, plus Prince William, Manassas, Manassas Park, Fairfax, Arlington, Falls Church, Alexandria, Stafford, Spotsylvania and King George, the weather service said.
This hazardous outlook is for the Maryland portion of the Chesapeake Bay, Tidal Potomac River, and I-95 corridor through central Maryland, northern Virginia, and District of Columbia.

"Locally heavy rain may result in isolated instances of flooding," the National Weather Service said. "Isolated severe storms are possible over extreme southern Maryland and the adjacent Chesapeake Bay waters south of Drum Point."
As if that isn't miserable enough, weather forecasters said frost is possible early next week in some areas.

Thursday Night: Showers and thunderstorms, mainly before 9pm. Low around 44. West wind 6 to 14 mph, with gusts as high as 26 mph. Chance of precipitation is 80%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch, except higher amounts possible in thunderstorms.
Friday: A chance of showers, mainly after 3pm. Mostly sunny, with a high near 62. Light west wind becoming southwest 6 to 11 mph in the morning. Winds could gust as high as 21 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Friday Night: A chance of showers before 3am. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 43. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph. Chance of precipitation is 40%.
Saturday: A slight chance of showers after 3pm. Partly sunny, with a high near 56. West wind 6 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 18 mph. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Saturday Night: A slight chance of showers before 9pm. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 39. Chance of precipitation is 20%.
Sunday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 53.
Sunday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 38.
Monday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 65.
