LANDOVER, MD — A year and a half after dropping its old name, Washington's football team is now known as the Washington Commanders.

For two seasons, the team was known simply as the Washington Football Team. Now, team co-owner Dan Snyder said he is excited about the new name, saying it pays “homage to our local roots and what it means to represent the nation’s capital."

See below for photos of the new logo and name.
