PHOTOS: White House Easter Egg Roll Goes On Despite April Showers
The rain delay at the White House's "EGG-ucation" themed Easter Egg Roll Monday did not stop thousands of attendees.

WASHINGTON, DC — A rainy Monday at the White House could not dampen the Easter festivities on the South Lawn. Over 40,000 participants came to the White House to celebrate the April 1 Easter Egg Roll, a tradition first held in 1878.
This year's theme was "EGG-ucation", created by first Lady Jill Biden. As a teacher for over 30 years, the First Lady designed the event to teach children about healthy eating, exercise and farming.
Children lined up on the South Lawn for a chance to get to roll their colorful hard-boiled eggs. The President, First Lady, and Easter bunnies cheered them on. Even with the gloomy weather, plenty of families attended the event while donning brightly colored ponchos and rain jackets.
