Police Respond To Possible Threats At MedStar Hospital: Reports

BREAKING NEWS: A large police presence is at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Northwest DC.

(Updated at 11:40 a.m. Thursday): WASHINGTON, DC — Police are responding to a possible report of threats made by a patient at MedStar Washington Hospital Center in Northwest DC Thursday morning, according to reports.

Fox5 reports police were called to the scene after a patient made threats to his doctor.

A man wearing dark clothing allegedly walked into the hospital and made threats, ABC7 says.

Media reports said there was a possible active shooter, but police have not confirmed this information.

The hospital is located at 106 Irving St. NW. Streets were closed in the area, but reopened as of around 11:30 a.m., police said.

"Police Activity/Threats at 110 Irving St NW is clear. All Street closures have reopened," police tweeted.

The Veterans Affairs Hospital, Washington Hospital Physician Building and Children's National Medical Center were on lockdown, according to Homeland Security officials.
