Road Closures, Parking Restrictions In DC For Fire & EMS Parade

WASHINGTON, DC — Motorists should expect delays in downtown D.C. on Saturday as the city holds the DC Fire and EMS 150th Anniversary Parade and Apparatus Muster on Constitution Avenue.

During the parade, DC Fire and EMS members will honor the 101 fallen firefighters over the past 150 years. Cadets and recruits will carry 102 DC flags in honor of the fallen firefighters, with the 102nd flag commemorating the line of duty deaths for firefighters that may have gone unrecorded in history.

It has been 25 years since DC Fire And EMS held a parade on Constitution Avenue NW.

Along with street closures, several blocks of downtown will have parking restrictions due to the parade. All vehicles that are parked in violation of the emergency no parking signs will be ticketed and towed, D.C. officials said.

The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m.:

• 7th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
• Constitution Avenue from Pennsylvania Avenue to 14th Street, NW
• 10th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue, NW

The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.:

• 9th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue, NW
• 12th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Constitution Avenue, NW
• 14th Street between F Street, NW and Independence Avenue, SW
• Constitution Avenue between 14th Street and 15th Street, NW
• SE/SW Freeway-Access to 12th Street Tunnel from I-395 ramp
• Inbound I-395 (14th Street Bridge) - All traffic will be sent eastbound on I-395
• Inbound I-395 (14th Street Bridge - HOV) - All traffic will be sent eastbound on I-395

The following streets will be closed to vehicle traffic on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m.:

• Pennsylvania Avenue, NW from 12th Street to 15th Street, NW
• 13th Street from E Street to Pennsylvania Avenue, NW

The following streets will be posted as Emergency No Parking on Saturday from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. :

• 7th Street from Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
• Constitution Avenue from Pennsylvania Avenue to 15th Street, NW
• 12th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue and Madison Drive, NW
• 14th Street between Pennsylvania Avenue, NW to Independence Avenue, SW
• Pennsylvania Avenue from 12th Street to 14th Street, NW
• 13th Street between E Street and Pennsylvania Avenue, NW
