Shooting Kills 1 Near Columbia Heights Metro: Police (UPDATES)

Police are investigating a fatal shooting that left one man dead near the Columbia Heights Metro station.

(Updated 9:28 a.m. Friday): WASHINGTON, DC — Police are investigating a fatal shooting that took place near the Columbia Heights Metro station Wednesday night.

The shooting occurred in the 1400 block of Harvard St, NW. Police have not released the identity of the victim at this time.

At about 9:41 p.m., officers responded to the sounds of gunshots at the listed location. Arriving officers discovered an adult male suffering from multiple gunshot wounds. He was unconscious and unresponsive, police said. The man died on the scene.

Police are searching for a black man with a thin build, who was dressed in all dark clothing at the time.

Anyone with information about this case is asked to call the police at202-727-9099. Additionally, anonymous information may be submitted to the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by sending a text message to 50411. Police are offering a reward of up to $25,000.
