WASHINGTON, DC -- Orange Line trains were delayed on Monday afternoon after a snake or snakes were brought onto a train at Deanwood, according to reports.

Metro tweeted at 2:26 p.m. that the Orange Line was no longer single-tracking but residual delays would continue in both directions "following an animal on the train at Deanwood."

WMATA watchdog Metro Reasons tweeted that Orange Line trains were not single-tracking, and in fact the tweet was prompted by a report of "two snakes brought onto railcar 7031 by a passenger."
