WASHINGTON, DC — A 19-year-old girl was shot and killed in a triple shooting during a family gathering at her home in Southeast Washington Saturday, police said. Police are actively searching for the shooter who killed Unique Davis, and shot her boyfriend and older sister.

At about 6:55 p.m. Saturday, officers were called to the Davis's home in the 1500 block of Tubman Road, SE for the sounds of gunshots. They found Davis unconscious and unresponsive and pronounced her dead on the scene, police said.

The other two victims were transported to area hospitals with non-life threatening injuries. Police believe the suspect or suspects targeted someone who was at the Davis's home.

Davis was killed just one day after her 19th birthday, The Washington Post reports. A recent graduate of Anacostia High School, she was planning on starting a job at FedEx Sunday.

“Justice needs to be served,” Davena Davis, who is Unique Davis’s godmother, told The Washington Post. “She had a life to live. She didn’t deserve this at all. The shooters need to pay the price. They didn’t just take a child, they took our hearts. . . . They need to suffer in hell for what they did to her.”
