Washington DC Weather Forecast: Clear, Cold Week Could End With Snow

Rain Monday morning, but we'll have a cloudy, dry week before rain and snow next weekend, according to the National Weather Service.

WASHINGTON, DC — We'll start the week off with some rain Monday morning, but the precipitation to keep an eye on will be next weekend — when we'll likely see some snow, according to the National Weather Service.

It's also going to be a cold week, with Monday bringing our highest temperatures at 50 degrees. The rain moves out by Monday afternoon, but clouds will be present throughout the week. Tuesday's high is 47 degrees, and we'll reach 40 degrees Wednesday.

Temperatures drop to the low 20s Wednesday night and high temperatures will stay in the 20s until the cold air moves out of the area Saturday afternoon. Overnight lows will be some of the coldest of the season, hitting 19 degrees Thursday night.

Friday night, we'll have a 50 percent chance of snow, and Saturday's forecast is a 60 percent chance of rain and snow.

Tonight: Rain after 2am. Low around 35. South wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts of less than a tenth of an inch possible.

Monday: Rain, mainly before 2pm. High near 50. Southwest wind 7 to 10 mph. Chance of precipitation is 90%. New precipitation amounts between a tenth and quarter of an inch possible.

Tuesday: Partly sunny, with a high near 47. Light and variable wind.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy, with a high near 42.

Wednesday Night: Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24.

Thursday: Sunny, with a high near 30.

Thursday Night: Mostly clear, with a low around 19.

Friday: Mostly sunny, with a high near 31.

Friday Night: A chance of snow. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 24. Chance of precipitation is 50%.

Saturday: Rain and snow likely. Cloudy, with a high near 44. Chance of precipitation is 60%.
