Washington Monument Turns Black Amid Fireworks (Photos)
The Washington Monument took on an ominous appearance during the fireworks that did not go unnoticed by social media.
WASHINGTON, DC -- The Washington Monument took on a sinister appearance during the 4th of July fireworks show on the National Mall, and photos of it made the rounds on social media.
The fireworks show this year was nearly twice as long as usual, running 35 minutes and producing a large amount of smoke that obscured the show for people in parts of D.C.
It also made the Washington Monument look positively creepy, as you can see below.
