Watch Replay: Sean Spicer Talks Immigration, Anti-Semitism At Daily Briefing
The briefing was less combative than some of Spicer's previous encounters with the press

White House Press Secretary Sean Spicer's daily press briefing on Tuesday was less combative than some of his previous encounters with the press, but he did reiterate President Trump's disappointment with some of the media coverage while also acknowledging the importance of a free press.
Spicer cited Trump's comments earlier in the day denouncing anti-Semitism and argued that he has always pledged to bring the country together and reduce hate. When asked about an increase in the number of anti-Muslim groups in the U.S., and whether it had any connection to perceived xenophobia coming from the Trump campaign and presidency, Spicer said that the country would not back down from discussing "radical Islamic terrorism" to keep the country safe.
Spicer also said that, regarding anti-Semitism and racism, that the president has made it his intention to unite the country. Referring to Trump's refusal to denounce threats toward synagogues in his recent press conference, Spicer said, at some point, "The question is asked and answered."

Asked whether the recent announcement from the Department of Homeland Security rolling back protections for undocumented immigrants was part of a plan for mass deportations, Spicer said, "No." He declined to offer any message to undocumented immigrants who have not committed any crimes and said that the president was focused on removing those individuals who posed a threat to the public.
Spicer said that president has a "big heart" and understands the plight of undocumented immigrants.
