White House Easter Egg Roll Ticket Lottery Begins Friday
Find out how to apply for a chance to win tickets for the 2018 White House Easter Egg Roll.

WASHINGTON, D.C. — Members of the public can request free tickets through an online lottery for the 140th White House Easter Egg Roll starting this week, the White House announced.
Entering the lottery is free of charge, and the public can submit their requests starting Friday, Feb. 9 until noon Thursday, Feb. 15. Winners will be notified via email no later than Monday, March 5.
The Easter Egg Roll will take place on Monday, April 2 on the South Lawn of the White House, and families with children 13 years old and younger are welcome to attend for a day of festivities. This is the White House's largest annual public event, with 35,000 parents and children attending in 2016 and about 21,000 in 2017.

Attendees can expect live entertainment, sports, interactive cooking demonstrations, and, of course, the traditional rolling of the Easter eggs, the press release states.
"The White House Easter Egg Roll is a timeless White House tradition, dating back to 1878 and the presidency of President Rutherford B. Hayes. The President and First Lady are honored to continue the traditions of the past, while weaving new traditions into the fabric of our Nation's history," a statement reads.

Tickets are free to the public and allotted through a lottery held online. Tickets are non-transferable. You can apply for tickets here.
The White House is also asking for volunteers to help at the event. Interested volunteers must submit an online application. The deadline for applying is noon Feb. 23.
Families can also purchase commemorative Easter Eggs through the National Park Foundation, the official charity of the National Park Service. The official White House Easter Egg Roll commemorative eggs will be available whether or not you attend the event. Commemorative eggs will be available for sale online soon, and information on how to purchase will be linked on this page.
