Woman Tries To Kidnap 7-Year-Old Boy On DC Metrobus: Police

Police are searching for a woman they say tried to kidnap a 7-year-old boy while he rode the bus to school in Northeast.

WASHINGTON, DC — An unknown woman allegedly attempted to kidnap a 7-year-old boy on a D.C. Metrobus Wednesday morning, Metro Transit Police announced.

Police say the incident took place on a 92 Metrobus as the boy and his 13-year-old sister were traveling to school. The bus was traveling near H and 8th Street in Northeast Washington.

The woman allegedly approached the boy and asked him where his parents were. The boy told her he was traveling with his sister, when the woman reportedly said: "When I get off this bus, you're coming with me. We going to the feds."

The woman then told the older sister, "Like I said, he coming with me."

Other passengers intervened, helped them off the bus and placed them on another bus, police said. The incident was then reported to school administrators when the children arrived.

Police describe the suspect as a black female, age 30-50, approximately 5'2" - 5'5" in height, 160-170 lbs, brown eyes, brown hair in a short Afro style. MTPD detectives are interested in speaking with anyone who may have witnessed this incident aboard the 92 bus this morning.
