2 Miami-Dade Cops Face Charges Over Rough Arrest
WATCH: Surveillance video shows the moment a Miami-Dade cop strikes a man being led away in handcuffs.

MIAMI, FL -- Miami-Dade State Attorney Katherine Fernandez Rundle and Police Director Juan J. Perez announced charges Tuesday against two Miami-Dade police officers stemming from a March 2018 rough arrest.
"Not only is this behavior unacceptable, but it eats at the trust police officers need to solve crimes," Fernandez Rundle told reporters.
The arrest involved Bryan Crespo, who was being led from his home in handcuffs when it appeared on surveillance video that Crespo was punched in the face by Miami-Dade police sergeant Sgt. Manuel Regueiro, who was charged with misdemeanor battery.

"Both of them -- for whatever reason, whatever decisions they made that day, that lack of judgement -- have ruined their careers," said Perez.
The incident occurred nearly a year ago on March 15, 2018. Local 10 News quoted an attorney for Crespo as saying that the then 18-year-old was considering a civil rights case against the county as a result of the incident.
