Hurricane Irma: 1 Dead In Miami-Dade County Of CO Poisoning

MIAMI-DADE COUNTY, FL — One person has died in the aftermath of Hurricane Irma in Miami-Dade, emergency management officials said.
The person died of carbon monoxide poisoning caused by a generator. Officials reminded residents that if they are using a generator — which many people are due to the astounding number of power outages in South Florida — to make sure that it is run in an open space and not in an enclosed space.
