Man Accused Of Firing At Miami Beach Cop Faces Multiple Charges

MIAMI BEACH, FL --The man accused of opening fire on a Miami Beach police officer Friday has been identified as 34-year-old Terence Daniely of Riverview, Florida.

Daniely was taken into custody following an armed robbery in South Beach, a wild police chase over the MacArthur Causeway and a manhunt that caused an interruption to Metrorail service for hundreds of public transit riders in downtown Miami.

He was charged with attempted felony murder, robbery with a firearm, fleeing or eluding a police officer and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, according to Miami Beach police.

Court documents said Daniely allegedly stole $1,500 at gunpoint from a valet attendant at 4 Street and Ocean Drive around 1:36 p.m.

He was subsequently spotted trying to get away in a white Dodge Challenger on Michigan Avenue at 3 Street.

Court documents said it was there that Danieli allegedly fired at a Miami Beach police officer through the windshield of the Challenger. Police later found three spent shells in the vehicle.

Police chased Daniely over the causeway to downtown Miami where he was found hiding in a Miami shed and taken into custody by a police K-9. Police said Dathey recovered two firearms.
