Miami-Dade High School Threat Leads To Arrest

An 18-year-old man was arrested Monday following a social media threat against William H. Turner Technical Arts High School.

MIAMI, FL -- An 18-year-old man was arrested Monday following a social media threat against William H. Turner Technical Arts High School.

Kenly Serge Dorvil was charged with making written threats to kill or do bodily harm.

Dorvil is not a student at any of the Miami-Dade County public schools, according to Chief Edwin Lopez of the Miami-Dade Schools Police Department.

"We do not take any threat lightly, especially those made via social media," Lopez said on social media.

Miami-Dade Schools spokesperson Daisy Gonzalez-Diego told Patch that the investigation began Sunday.

"Miami-Dade Schools Police had been investigating the post since last night," she explained. "After 15 hours on the case, they made an arrest."

Miami-Dade Schools released a copy of one of the social media threats below:

Director Juan Perez of the Miami-Dade Police Department stressed that there are consequences to social media posts.

"We will not tolerate these threats," he said. "Everyone should understand by now these crimes are taken serious and there are consequences for posting threats on social media."

The school is located at 10151 NW 19th Ave.
