Wild Police Chase In Miami; 4 In Custody
Two 18-year-old men and two younger teenage boys have been charged in connection with a wild police chase in which a pedestrian was killed.

MIAMI, FL --Two 18-year-old men and two younger teenage boys have been charged in connection with Sunday's wild police chase in which a pedestrian was killed and multiple cars and a light pole were damaged.
The incident began shortly before 2 p.m. when an armed robbery took place in the
area of NW 19th Avenue and 32nd Street, according to Officer Michael Vega of the Miami Police Department.
"At approximately 4:30 p.m., officers located the red Hyundai Elantra in the Liberty Square area," he said. "Officers attempted to stop the vehicle, but the driver refused. Officers pursued the vehicle to area of NW 17th Avenue and 58th Street."

Vega said the Hyundai was struck during the chase by a black vehicle that had been traveling south on 17th Avenue.
"Prior to coming to rest, the stolen vehicle did cause damage to three other vehicles and a light pole," Vega explained. The vehicle then struck and killed a pedestrian, who still had not been identified by Miami police on Monday.

The adults were identified as Jonathan A. Daniels and Tharron Lawton. Patch is withholding the names of the two juveniles because they are 16 and 15. All four were taken to Jackson Memorial Hospital following the crash.
"Three officers were injured but they're OK," Vega told Patch, adding that additional charges are pending.
Police were still in the process on Monday of notifying the family of the woman who was killed during the incident.
Police were also still attempting to determine who was driving the Hyundai at the time of the crash. Traffic in the area was disrupted into Monday morning.
"We don't know if there are other victims," Vega told Patch. "We need the public to come forward."
The Hyundai was taken on Saturday during an armed carjacking elsewhere in Miami-Dade County. Sunday's robbery involved a stolen cellphone in which the victim was also injured. "They hit him across the head with the cell phone," said Vega. "The victim fought back."
The pedestrian was pronounced dead at the scene by Miami Fire Rescue.
"Several firearms and possibly stolen items were recovered from the vehicle," Vega added.
