President Bush's Death Draws Georgia Tributes
Gov. Nathan Deal and other Georgia political leaders are paying tribute to the late George H.W. Bush.

ATLANTA, GA -- Gov. Nathan Deal has ordered flags to be flown at half-mast in the wake of former President George H.W. Bush's death over the weekend. Deal, along with other Georgia leaders, paid tribute to the the 41st president of the United States, who will lie in state at the U.S. Capitol. President Donald Trump has designated Wednesday, Dec. 5 as a national day of mourning.
Bush, a war hero and Texas oilman who be came the nation's 41st president, died Friday at his Houston, Texas, home. He was 94. The death of the Bush family patriarch comes almost eight months after he lost his beloved Barbara, his wife of 73 years.
House Majority Leader Mitch McConnell said a bicameral arrival ceremony will be held on Dec. 3 at 5 p.m. The public will be able to pay their respect from Dec. 3 at 7:30 p.m. until Dec. 5 at 7 p.m.

Funeral arrangements beyond the Capitol ceremony will be announced by the Bush famly. A state funeral is being arranged with accompanying support and honors. Trump and the first lady will attend the funeral at the National Cathedral in Washington D.C.
