Brookhaven Mayor meets with Senior Residents

Earlier today Mayor John Parks of Brookhaven had the opportunity to meet with seniors residents of the Ashford Parkside/Landings senior community. Mayor Parks was able to share updates on many of the current, ongoing and upcoming initiatives for Brookhaven. Topics included the new city center, new parks, coming sidewalks, planned new senior housing, and the addition of another community garden among other things. Seniors were also encouraged to download the free Brookhaven Connect app for faster response to concerns and complaints of a non emergency nature. For issues in public works, parks and recreation, community development, infrastructure and property maintenance it has been very successful. Following the Mayor's address, he was able to answer resident questions in both English and Korean assisted by the residents Korean translator, Xavier Kim. Ashford Parkside/Landing's population is approximately 70% Korean. A simple American-Korean lunch followed.
