Crash Kills Pedestrian At Brookhaven Intersection
A man was trying to cross the street when he was hit by a car at a Brookhaven intersection, police say.
BROOKHAVEN, GA — A 27-year-old man is dead after police say he tried to cross North Druid Hills Road and was hit by a car Wednesday morning.
The fatal crash happened around 6 a.m. at the North Druid Hills and Executive Park Drive intersection, Brookhaven Police said.
A white Subaru was heading east through the intersection, where the traffic signal was green, when the man tried to cross North Druid Hills outside the crosswalk and against the pedestrian signal, police said.

The car then hit the man, police said. When officers arrived on the scene, police said they found the man severely injured in the eastbound lanes of North Druid Hills.
Officers tried lifesaving measures, but police said the man was later pronounced dead at Grady Memorial Hospital. He was not identified.

The driver of the Subaru remained on scene and was cooperative. Police said no charges are being filed at this time.
“Our thoughts are with the family of the victim during this very difficult time,” Brookhaven Police
Lt. Corey Van Alen said in a news release. “Our Traffic Safety Unit is committed to conducting a thorough investigation and ensuring that all circumstances surrounding this tragic incident are carefully reviewed.”
This case remains under active investigation.
