Job Seekers: Boost Your Career at Goodwill's Annual Job Fair

Goodwill of North Georgia in Decatur hosts its third annual career fair on Jan. 14.

You’ve heard the advice before -- finding a job is all about networking.

Well, DeKalb County residents can get a leg up on the competition when they get to mingle with local recruiters on Wednesday, Jan. 14, at the upcoming New Year. New Job. career fair hosted by Goodwill of North Georgia in Decatur.

Free and open to the public, the career fair offers job-seekers résumé-writing tools, local job postings, computers, photocopiers, telephones and other resources to help secure a position.

“New Year. New Job. gives individuals looking for work the chance to connect with dozens of employers on a single day,” said Elaine Armstrong, Goodwill of North Georgia’s director of public relations, in a release. “We’ve found that after the holiday season people tend to get back into the swing of their job search, so we created this event to give them a jump-start and to help area employers fill open positions at the start of the year.”

Each of Goodwill’s ten career centers will host its own recruitment fair from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Beyond its Decatur location, Goodwill of North Georgia career centers are located in Athens, Atlanta, Cartersville, Duluth, Oakwood, Rome, Smyrna, Stockbridge and Woodstock.

Wells Fargo, Home Depot, DeVry University and Koch Foods are among the organizations sending representatives to Wednesday’s fair. Search a full list of employers set to attend the fair online.
