Oglethorpe Athlete Named Golfer-of-the-Week Twice this Spring

Oglethorpe sophomore golfer Hayden Jones of Orlando, Florida has been named the SCAC Golfer-of-the-Week for his outstanding play on the links at last weekend's Camp Lejeune Invitational. The POTW nod is the second this spring for Jones.

Jones fired a three day total of 207 (68-65-74) to claim fourth out of 160 golfers at the 41st Annual Camp Lejeune Intercollegiate in Jacksonville, N.C. Jones' 207 included two eagles in Friday's round one and set a new school record for lowest three day total in that tournament.

Jones led the Petrels to an impressive second place finish in a field of 41 teams firing a three day total of 851 (289-267-295), finishing 16 strokes behind eventual tournament winner Methodist.

Jones and his Petrel teammates are back in action this weekend in the Emory Spring Invitational held at the Druid Hills Country Club this Sunday and Monday.
