Here are the top five stories in Douglasville today:

  1. Four individuals have been arrested in connection with a deadly home invasion that occurred in Douglas County during the summer of 2022. The victim, Cory Myers, was fatally shot at the Birch Landing apartment complex in Lithia Springs on Jun. 7, 2022. The suspects, Christian Jeriel Dejerinett, Keyako Elijah Enrique Moore, Jermonie Taj Suttles, and Dion Eric Williams, were apprehended in various locations and jurisdictions, but details regarding the crime's motive and circumstances have not been disclosed by investigators.   2. A BOLO has been issued in Douglas County for 32-year-old Dwayne McCalvin. Dwayne was last seen at his residence on Aug. 19, and his family has had no contact with him since. Details about his clothing and destination are unknown.   3. Join in the celebration of National Faith in Blue Weekend with a car/motorcycle fun ride that starts at Day Star Tabernacle in Douglasville on Oct. 7. Gathering at 8:00 a.m. and departing at 9:30 a.m., the ride will conclude at Atlanta West Pentecostal in Lithia Springs, where the Douglas County Sheriff's Office will host a Family Fun Day until 4:00 p.m., featuring free food, games, music, and fellowship. The event highlights the collaboration between law enforcement and faith institutions to foster strong communities through mutual respect and understanding.   4. Discover Douglasville is inviting local vendors to join their Stranger Things Block Party and showcase products that capture the essence of the show. They're looking for artisanal crafts inspired by iconic moments, collectibles reminiscent of the '80s, and Hawkins High School-themed items. Additionally, they're seeking food vendors who can create unique menu items paying tribute to Stranger Things, like "Stranger Wings" or "Demogorgon Dog."
