Douglas County School System
School begins in Douglas on Aug. 1 and is set to end on May 21, 2025 for students.

With the high-school back-to-school bash being held Friday, DCSS will host open houses for middle schoolers and elementary schoolers next week. The school system monikered these events as "sneak-a-peeks."
The sneak-a-peek for elementary school will be held from 4:30-6 p.m. and from 5:30-7 p.m., July 30.

Menu prices in Douglas vary. Reduced meals for all schools cost $0.30 for breakfast and $0.40 for lunch. Extra milk or juice are $0.65.

Back-to-School Event
The Douglas County District Attorney's Office and Fit for the Future will sponsor a record restriction and back-to-school event from 2-5 p.m. Sunday at 2121 Fairburn Road in Douglasville.
Organizers said 3,000 backpacks will be donated, and free haircuts will be available. The event will also include community resources, free food and a bounce house, organizers said.
Record restriction will be offered for people arrested in Douglas County, organizers said. Pre-registration via the district attorney's office is required for the record restriction.
