Douglas County School System: MLES Hosts Pancakes With Parents

Translate Families at Mirror Lake Elementary were excited to eat breakfast with their students at the school's Pancake with Parents event. 

Parents have been eager to get back into the school and get involved. With the help of the MLES cafeteria staff and DCSS School Nutrition the event successfully served over 200 students and their families during the three day event.  Pancakes with Parents was one of the many family engagement activities that was a part of the "Show the Love" kindness challenge put on by the school during the Month of February.

In addition to eating breakfast with their students, parents signed up to volunteer for morning car rider duty, and volunteered in the book fair. Students helped spread kindness by writing letters and drawing pictures for other students and staff at Mirror Lake.
