Did you know of Douglasville's police is also a rapper? Find out which one it is this Saturday at the department's free music festival.

DOUGLASVILLE, GA — Good weather will accompany great music and delicious food Saturday afternoon when the Douglasville Police Department stages its Music Festival from noon to 5 p.m.

The event, free for both performers and the public, promises live music on the front lawn of police headquarters on Fairborn Road — and all music will be minus offensive content. Talent will receive first-, second- and third-place awards based on audience applause.

According to online posts from the department, the competition will have MC Aaron Dandrea and a DJ throughout the day. Other performers will include saxophonist De Wayne Martin, guitarist Bennie Amey, jazz artist Joel Cruickshank, along with rapper — and Douglasville police officer — Alonzo Merchant.
