DOUGLAS COUNTY, GA -- Students in Douglas County have the opportunity to keep learning all summer. Many specialty academic camps will take place during June and July.

Camp offerings include transition programs for students entering elementary, middle, and high school for the first time. Incoming kindergarten students at all elementary schools will get a taste of "big" school during Kindercamp July 22-25. A middle school transition camp for incoming 6th graders will take place on the same days, and some incoming high school freshmen will become familiar with their new campus and procedures during 2023 All Stars Camp.

Additional academic camps include the 21st CCLC Summer Camps which will take place at various elementary, middle and high schools during the summer. Several schools will also hold a camp specially designed for ESOL (English to Speakers of Other Languages) students. Summer school will also be offered at all high schools.

"We encourage our parents of eligible students to take advantage of these summer learning opportunities," said Superintendent Trent North. "We want our students to be sharp and ready to learn when they step into the classroom on Aug. 7 for the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year."

Aside from summer school, all camps are free for students. Please click here for more details and eligibility requirements for each camp and for information regarding registration. Photos are from last year's camps at Arbor Station Elementary and Yeager Middle School.
