Burglary Suspect Says 'Naruto' Books Inspired Him, Dunwoody Police Say
Burglary suspect says Naruto books were "teaching him to be a ninja and how to enter secured areas," Dunwoody police say.

DUNWOODY, GA -- A burglary suspect was arrested Sunday night after admitting to breaking into a business and telling Dunwoody officers that he was inspired by "Naruto" books. The man told police that he was "reading the book Naruto, Volume 5. In this book it was teaching him to be a ninja and how to enter secured areas,"

Christopher Zahyeer Atkins, 25, of Altamonte Springs, Florida, was caught on security camera burglarizing a Target store at Perimeter Center Place, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
Naruto is a Japanese manga series popular in the United States and abroad. It centers on the life of an adolescent ninja.

It is unknown whether Atkins lives in the area or is just visiting. Dunwoody police said that he is charged with first-degree burglary.
Atkins took a number of items from the store, including 10 books, 10 DVDs, a Samsung tablet, Bluetooth headphones and more, the AJC reports.
