1. Dunwoody Mobilizes for 10th Annual MLK Day of Service with Community Projects and Blood Drive (hoodline.com) — Dunwoody residents are invited to join the 10th annual MLK Day of Service on January 19, 2026, with projects at Dunwoody Nature Center, Brook Run Park, and the Community Garden plus a local blood drive. Volunteers can sign up online to plant trees and daffodils, help with garden cleanup, and donate blood, all in partnership with local groups and city leaders.
   

2. Officers arrest 2 teens linked to armed robbery (appenmedia.com) — Dunwoody police arrested two 19-year-olds from Lithonia after a landscaping crew reported being robbed at gunpoint near Chamblee Dunwoody Road and Magnolia Walk Circle. A Dunwoody detective quickly stopped the suspects’ SUV, recovered a stolen leaf blower, and officers say one teen now faces a firearm charge while both face armed robbery charges and remain in DeKalb County Jail.
   

3. Police arrest man wanted for assault (appenmedia.com) — Dunwoody police recently arrested a Doraville man during a domestic dispute call at the Lacota Apartments off Peachtree Industrial Boulevard after discovering he had an outstanding DeKalb County warrant for simple assault. Officers say he initially refused to identify himself, but a search revealed a different name on his ID, leading to his arrest and transfer to DeKalb County Jail, where he remained as of Dec. 22.
   

4. Sandy Springs in review: City prioritizes safety, celebrates founding (appenmedia.com) — Sandy Springs residents just reelected Mayor Rusty Paul and saw several new council members chosen as the city marked its 20th anniversary and pushed major trail and road projects near the Perimeter area shared with Dunwoody. The city advanced PATH400, Springway trails, and a Hammond Drive widening while also investing heavily in new public safety facilities and revisiting a controversial buffer ordinance affecting free-speech concerns.
