  1. On Thursday night, Jun. 1, a vehicle caused extensive damage by slamming into the arch at the College Street entrance of Rose Hill Cemetery. The Bibb County Sheriff's Office is investigating the incident and is checking surveillance cameras from nearby businesses. The College Street entrance has been closed off until a decision is made about whether the arch can be saved. (13WMAZ.com)
  2. Mayor Lester Miller of Macon-Bibb proposed to lower the millage rate from 17.901 to 12.901. Tami Crewdson, a local property owner with Crew Property Solutions, said a lower millage rate could mean residents will pay less on property tax if their property value stays about the same, but if property values go up then residents might not see a decrease. Crewdson said, "Regardless, a lower millage rate is better than any higher millage rate." (wgxa.tv)
  3. Bibb County Deputies are searching for 26-year-old Nickey Heichelbech, a Macon woman who has been missing for nearly three weeks. Nickey's mother, Stacey Heichelbech, told deputies that Nickey's boyfriend had kidnapped Nickey years ago and said he might have done it again. Call the Bibb County Sheriff's Office at (478) 751-7500 with any information on Nickey or her whereabouts. (wgxa.tv)
