1 Dead, 1 Arrested In Marietta Hit-And-Run
A pedestrian was crossing the street when he was fatally hit on a busy Marietta road, police say.
MARIETTA, GA — A 36-year-old Marietta man is dead after a hit-and-run Monday evening at Terrell Mill Road, north of the Bentley Road intersection, police say.
Marietta Police on Tuesday said the man was crossing Terrell Mill outside of a crosswalk when he was hit by a gray 2014 Ford Escape traveling south in the center turn lane of Terrell Mill around 7:15 p.m.
The Ford driver then fled the scene, and an ambulance took the man to Wellstar Kennestone Hospital with life-threatening injuries, police said. He was later pronounced dead, police said. The man was not identified by name.

Investigators identified the Ford driver as a 28-year-old Marietta man. Patrol officers arrested him on charges of center turn lane violation, driving while license suspended and felony hit-and-run, police said. His name was not released.
