1 Dead, 3 Injured In Multiple Cobb Crashes: Reports

Police seek a driver in a three-vehicle pileup that injured three people in Cobb County. Meanwhile, a pedestrian was fatally hit by a car.

COBB COUNTY, GA — A pedestrian is dead, and three people were injured, in two crashes that occurred hours apart Monday in Cobb County.

The first crash happened around 3 a.m. on Interstate 75 south near Canton Connecter, WANF reported.

A car hit the side of a tractor-trailer, causing the tractor-trailer to then collide with a Chevy Equinox, which then lost control and overturned, WANF reported, citing police.

Three adults in the Equinox suffered injuries that were not life threatening and were taken to a hospital, WANF reported, adding the original driver of the car fled the scene and are being sought after by police.

Two hours later, both Cobb County Police and Kennesaw Police said officers responded to a pedestrian crash at Cobb Parkway and Crater Lake Drive.

The deadly crash happened around 5 a.m. and killed the pedestrian who was hit by a car, WANF reported.

Police did not identify the pedestrian. The crash had Cobb Parkway shut down in Kennesaw until about 8:30 a.m., police said.
