After Brief Escape, Suspect Arrested In Auto Break Ins
Heyward Circle residents called police early Monday morning with reports of a man acting suspiciously.
MARIETTA, GA — A man is in custody under suspicious of breaking and entering into a car in a Marietta neighborhood. Just after midnight on Sept. 9, several Heyward Circle residents called 911 to report suspicious activity in their neighborhood. Police began canvasing the area and located a suspect matching a description given by the 911 callers.
An officer confronted the suspect, now identified as Terrance Lamar Foster, and tried to detain him until back-up arrived. Foster, police said, escaped but dropped a backpack he had allegedly been carrying. The backpack contained loose change, multiple cell phones and a set of keys. Police linked some of the items back to one of the 911 callers who reported their car had been broken into.
By 8am, a “Be On the Look Out” was posted, and by Monday afternoon, police had arrested Foster, who was charged with obstruction and entering auto, both felonies. Police are investigating and trying to determine if Foster is a suspect in any other incidents.
