VA clinic in Marietta temporarily closes due to flooding, officials say (11alive.com) — Veterans who use the West Cobb VA Clinic in Marietta should know the facility is temporarily closed after flooding and must call the listed numbers to change or schedule appointments. The Atlanta VA is shifting patients to virtual visits or alternate locations until repairs are complete and the clinic can safely reopen.
   

2. Man arrested after unprovoked punching attack at Marietta Square (fox5atlanta.com) — An unprovoked punching attack at Marietta Square left two men with facial injuries Saturday night, and a bystander helped restrain the suspect until Marietta police arrived. Officers arrested Ivan Carrillo near Powder Springs Street and Whitlock Avenue, and both victims were taken to Kennestone Hospital. Police say the busy holiday season is a reminder to stay alert in the square.
   

3. Second suspect in Kell High School vandalism case charged, released from custody (macon.com) — An 18-year-old Marietta resident has been charged in connection with extensive vandalism at Kell High School in Cobb County, where damage to gym floors and equipment is estimated in the thousands. He and another former student face multiple felony and misdemeanor counts after allegedly entering the campus over Thanksgiving break.
   

4. 24 Karat Club SEUS Announces Recipients of 2025 Industry Scholarships (southernjewelrynews.com) — A Marietta jeweler, Colin Gowland of Blackwell’s Jewelers, has been awarded a 2025 Accounting for Jewelers Scholarship to advance his professional education. He’s one of several recipients across the Southeast recognized by the 24 Karat Club SEUS, which funds training to strengthen long-term careers in the jewelry industry.
   

5. 'My name is Blitz. Are you here to adopt me?' (cobbcountycourier.com) — If you’re looking to adopt in Marietta, Cobb County Animal Services is featuring Blitz, a 3‑year‑old pit bull terrier currently in their shelter on Al Bishop Drive. The county now prefers adoption appointments but still welcomes walk-ins, with special rules for owner surrenders, strays, and lost pets to streamline visits for families and animals.
